When I was in fifth grade, one of my best friends would come to school with a bright green shirt. I was always curious on who the person on the shirt was. So one day, I asked her. And she told me with a smile I can never forget about Christina Grimmie. From then on, Christina was a big part of my life. I envied her voice and wished I could be as cool as her. When she was on The Voice I would watch her Wrecking Ball cover on repeat. My interests focused on other things for awhile as I was more focused on school and theatre than YouTube, but in early 2016 I rediscovered Christina again and fell in love with her once more. Christina inspired me to be myself. I was self conscious about liking video games and being nerdy but Christina always assured me that it was okay to nerd out. She made me more confident in my singing abilities and even inspired me to learn to play the piano. Christina continues to make an impact on my life today and I am forever blessed that my friend shared her with me back in 2011. Her impact on me and my life is something I will cherish forever. And someday, I hope I’ll have All is Vanity tattooed on my arm in memory of her. Thank you Christina for loving everyone, even me. I think about you everyday.
